Bhopal, 22 November 2020: Stories and Beyond, an organization that trains and encourage children for reading habits, celebrated its annual day today. The function witnessed felicitation of 80 best smart performing students, special award to Genius Of The Year, storytelling session by Mrs.Amita Sarkari, workshop by Dr. Pallavi Rao Chaturvedi and revelation of Virtual Avataar of Stories & Beyond by its founders Nidhi Agarwal and Rekha Samal.

Students who were given away special prizes for reading more than 100 books in a year include Shinjini Pillai, Aarleen Agrawal, Swara Vats, Tanushveer Singh Jaiswal, Ashwina Moolchandani, Prakhyat Tiwari, Jashith Makhija, Kiearah Agrawal, Yashaswi Singh, Siddhant Sharma, Ritvik Agrawal and Shaurya Agrawal. In all 80 students from KG to 5th standard were felicitated on the occasion. Arinjay Tripathi won Genius Of The Year award. The winners received award winning novels and a certificate.

Parenting expert Dr Pallavi Rao Chaturvedi spoke on ‘Key Strategies To Develop Growth Mindset In Children’ subject. She explained what is growth mindset and why it is needed in today’s world. In her address she also underlined the role of parents in inculcating a growth mindset in children. She gave 7 useful strategies to build it in children.

Storyteller Mrs.Amita Sarkari narrated an African folktale Anansi the Spider. The story of Anansi begins in Ghana in West Africa many, many years ago. People believed that Anansi was the son of a great sky god named Nyame. Anansi was very powerful and could make it rain, or tell the oceans where they should be. Anansi had one serious weakness: he was very mischievous, or troublesome. He loved to play tricks on people. One day, Anansi’s father got so upset with his son that he turned him into a spider and took his powers away. But that didn’t stop Anansi. He may have lost his powers, but he was very smart. Anansi used his intelligence to trick and fool other animals and to get out of trouble.

The programme was attended by Arjita Singh, Edupreneur and International craft blogger; Radhika Agrawal, Director, Sagar Public School; Archana Zulphikar, Founder of bookish and educator; Supriya Singh, Principal, The Akriti International School; Sujata LA Khan, Ex Principal, Billabong High International School; Seema Raizada, Founder and President, Club Literati and Sonal Shrivastav from Tech Robo.
