Megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Monday announced actor Sonu Sood’s upcoming film “Kisaan”, to be directed by E Niwas. The movie will be produced by filmmaker Raaj Shaandilyaa, who made his directorial debut with the 2019 comedy “Dream Girl”, starring Ayushmann Khurrana. “All good wishes to film #Kisaan, directed by #ENiwas and acted by @SonuSood,” Bachchan tweeted. Further details about the film are yet to be known. Last month, Sood opened up about how filmmakers have started approaching him with lead roles in their films due to his philanthropic work for migrant workers during the coronavirus-induced lockdown last year. Actor Parineeti Chopra will be reuniting with her The Girl On The Train director Ribhu Dasgupta for an action-thriller in which she will play the role of an undercover agent. The yet-untitled film revolves around a covert rescue operation of Indian agents, led by Parineeti Chopra as protagonist. “It is not (set in) an India-Pakistan backdrop. The film has Parineeti as a covert agent, she is leading the operation. The film is also about her personal journey and her revenge,” a source close to the film’s team told PTI. According to the insider, the film’s ensemble cast also features Rajit Kapur, Kay Kay Menon, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Hardy Sandhu, among others. The project, scheduled to go on floors in March, is produced by Reliance Entertainment. Actor-politician Kamal Haasan on Friday tweeted to wish a swift recovery to megastar Rajinikanth, who was today admitted to hospital in Hyderabad over “severe fluctuations” in his blood pressure. “Wishes for Rajinikanth’s speedy recovery,” Mr Haasan tweeted in Tamil. Rajinikanth, 70, was in Hyderabad for his film “Annathe” but the shoot was cancelled earlier this week after four members of the crew tested positive for Covid. Rajinikanth had tested negative for Covid on Tuesday, Apollo Hyderabad informed. “Though he did not have any symptoms of Covid-19, his blood pressure showed severe fluctuations and needed further evaluation for which he has been admitted to the hospital. He will be investigated and monitored closely in the hospital till his blood pressure settles down before being discharged,” the statement said. Actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth, who has been in Hyderabad for the production of his upcoming film Annaathe, cancelled its shoot today after a few crew members tested positive for COVID-19. “Superstar Rajinikanth and other crew members have tested negative,” the film’s production studio, Sun Pictures, confirmed on Twitter. The coronavirus infection in four crew members was detected during routine testing, it added. The 70-year-old actor has been shooting for Siruthai Siva’s Annaathe, which features four women in the lead — Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Khushbu and Meena — since mid-December. Sources indicate the entire crew was in a bio-bubble, and the shoot was scheduled to continue till mid-January. One of India’s highest paid actors, Rajinikanth had announced his decision to join politics earlier in December amid reports that he was reluctant in view of the coronavirus pandemic and his health after a renal transplant, which made him vulnerable to Covid.

The actress, on her Instagram story, announced that she has “finally tested negative for COVID-19” and thanked her doctor and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation or BMC for “all the help and assistance.” She wrote: “Happy to inform everyone that I have finally tested negative for COVID-19! Netflix is reportedly getting an audio-only mode that will disable the ongoing video for a podcast-like experience. The feature was first discovered in an APK breakdown from back in October and now it seems like the feature has started to roll out. This feature is coming to the Netflix app on Android devices and there is no information on if and when this feature will make its way to iOS platform. The ability to go into an audio-only mode could be an useful feature for some users. The audio-only feature for the Netflix Android app was first discovered by XDA Developers back in October when they tore down the apk and saw references to turning off video and listening to shows.
