Maruti Suzuki Sales Rise 1.7% In November To Over 1.53 Lakh Units

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) registered a 1.7 per cent increase in sales to 1,53,223 units in November 2020. The company sold 1,50,630 units in the corresponding month last year. The domestic sales of the country’s largest carmaker increased marginally to 1,44,219 units last month, as compared to 1,43,686 units in November 2019, according to a recent statement filed by the company. The sales of its mini cars, consisting of S-Presso and Alto, decreased by 15.1 per cent to 22,339 units as compared to 26,306 in the corresponding month last year.

The sales of its compact segment, comprising models such as Celerio, Swift, Ignis, Dzire, and Baleno also declined by 1.8 per cent to 76,630 units last month, as compared to 78,013 units in November last year. Additionally, the sales of the mid-sized sedan Ciaz, increased by 29.1 per cent to 1,870 units last month. This was an increase from the 1,448 units sold in November last year. The utility vehicles comprising S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, and Ertiga increased by 2.4 per cent to 23,753 units, as against 23,204 units sold last year.

The exports last month were up by 29.7 per cent at 9,004 units as compared to 6,944 units in the same month last year, according to the firm.

Maruti Suzuki was last seen trading at ₹ 7110.00 apiece up by 1.19 per cent on the BSE. It recorded an intraday high of ₹ 7120.95 apiece on the same index and a low of ₹ 6981.10 apiece.
