Comedian Kapil Sharma, who was busy working on his and Ginni Chatrath’s second wedding anniversary on Saturday, apologised to his wife for not being able to spend time with her on their special day. He shared a picture from what appears to be his dressing area and he wrote in his note: “Sorry baby Ginni Chatrath. Am working on our anniversary.” He jokingly added, “ Gift dena hai to kamana bhi to padega (will have to earn to be able to give you a gift). Happy anniversary my love. See you in the evening.” Kapil Sharma married Ginni Chatrath as per Hindu and Sikh traditions in Jalandhar in December, 2018. The couple later hosted two grand receptions – in Amritsar and in Mumbai. The Mumbai reception was a star-studded affair.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) today arrested a Bollywood makeup artiste and hairstylist, along with an autorickshaw driver, for possessing 11 grams of cocaine and ₹ 56,000 in cash, said to be the proceeds of the drug’s sales. The NCB’s Mumbai Zonal Unit, in a statement, said that the agency had rounded up the two persons from the city’s Oshiwara locality on Wednesday. “Initial investigation revealed that one of the arrested persons, Suraj Godambe, is a hair stylist by profession,” according to a statement issued today by NCB Zonal Head Sameer Wankhede. Godambe, a popular makeup artist and hair stylist, has worked with some big production houses, an NCB official told PTI. He was allegedly the receiver of the consignment on Wednesday. Yadav, the supplier, is an autorickshaw driver and works on behalf of a Nigerian Syndicate, the statement said. The agency seized 11 grams of cocaine in 16 packets during the raid, along with an autorickshaw, from near Oshiwara’s Meera Tower in Andheri

TV actor Leena Acharya, who featured on shows like Class Of 2020 and Seth Ji , passed away following a kidney ailment, according to actor Rohan Mehra. She was in her late 30s. Rohan Mehra, who co-starred with Acharya in Class of 2020 , told news agency PTI that the actor breathed her last in Delhi on Saturday. Actor Ayush Anand, who worked with Acharya on Perfect Pati in 2018-2019, said the actor never mentioned about her kidney ailment. “It was only yesterday when I had a word with her brother I got to know that she was suffering from kidney issues since the past few years and was living on just one kidney that too donated by her mother,” Ayush Anand told PTI. Comedian Bharti Singh and her husband, Harsh Limbachiyaa, have been taken to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)’s Mumbai office for questioning after the anti-drug agency recovered a “small quantity of cannabis” during a search of their home this morning. Visuals from outside their residence – an apartment complex in Andheri – showed Ms Singh being driven away in a red Mercedes, while Mr Limbachiyaa was taken in a white NCB van. Ms Singh, on arriving at the NCB’s office, told reporters: “They have called us for some questioning, that’s all.” “She (Ms Singh) and her husband have been detained for questioning about possession of narcotics substances,” Sameer Wankhede, one of the investigating officials, told news agency ANI earlier. According to another NCB official, quoted by news agency PTI, Ms Singh’s name emerged during questioning of a drug peddler; a search of her home recovered a “small quantity of cannabis”. The Madhya Pradesh High Court bench in Indore has dismissed a petition of TV producer Ekta Kapoor seeking that a case filed against her for alleged objectionable content in web series “XXX season 2” be quashed. However, the Indore bench, in its 65-page verdict delivered on Wednesday, observed that the provision of the IPC section dealing with hurting religious feelings was not found to have been breached by the defendant. Five months ago, an FIR was registered against Ekta Kapoor following a complaint alleging that the web series, aired on her OTT platform ALTBalaji, not only spreads obscenity, but also hurts religious feelings. The TV produder-cum-filmmaker was booked under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act and the Indian Penal Code.
